Dot Howard’s paintings are firmly routed in the carnivalesque and her background as a performer.
Originally intending to study painting in the early 2000s, once enrolled at Central St Martins she took up performance art as her principal art form. Shortly after graduating, her public art was presented in locations across the UK including Royal Festival Hall, the London Underground, Bristol Arnolfini and the South London Gallery.
Since relocating to the East of England she has founded numerous live art groups and toured extensively; taking performances to (amongst others) the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Lowry, Warwick Arts Centre, Firstsite, South London Gallery, Royal Opera House and numerous arts festivals in the UK & abroad. In recent years she’s increasingly turned her focus towards the art of clowning.
